How to export a database using phpMyAdmin

Exporting a database creates a .sql file you can keep as a backup or use to move your site to another server.

Step-by-step

1. Open phpMyAdmin from cPanel and select your database on the left.
2. Click the Export tab.
3. Choose the Quick method and the SQL format, then click Export.
4. Save the downloaded .sql file somewhere safe.
